Edward Williams, MD
Dr. Edward Williams, MD, of Lakewood, Washington died February 6th, 2015 in his home of natural causes at the age of 62. He was born July 8th, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His parents were Loretta B. Williams and Edward Williams Sr. also deceased.
Dr. Edward Williams attended Harvard University, class of ’74, and then went on to medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his training at John Hopkins. He touched the hearts of many and worked relentless hours to help high school students achieve their college dreams as well. He also served in the Harvard Interview Committee for Washington State.
Dr. Williams was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling the world. However, over the years his commitment to helping aspiring college students and to his practice became more important to him.
Dr. Williams was a well-loved Obstetrician/Gynecologist and has delivered multiple generations of babes over the past 30 years. He will be greatly missed by his Omega Si Phi fraternity brothers, as well as his colleagues, patients and friends. However, his greatest achievement was his daughter Madison, who he was so proud of, and will sadly miss her college graduation, which was very important to him, this spring.
He is survived by his daughter Madison Williams, his sister Marcia, brother Lamont and family.
At the request of his daughter Madison, a private funeral service will be at Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday February 14th, 2015. There will be a memorial service open to the public the week of March 1st, 2015. Details about the memorial are to be announced through Dr. Williams Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers his family is asking to please make donations in his honor to the College for Success Foundation. Helping high school students get to college meant the world to him and your donations will be greatly appreciated
